About Fintel
FinTel is a company within TOWER Limited - combining technology and a progressive
outlook with a tradition of financial security.
That tradition began in New Zealand in 1869 with the founding of Government Life
(later renamed TOWER Life). Two other members of the Group, TOWER Insurance and
TOWER Trust, have also operated in New Zealand since 1873 and 1881 respectively.
By 1996 the other member companies - TOWER Holdings, TOWER Asset Management Ltd,
TOWER Australia, TOWER Health and Life, TOWER Managed Funds, TOWER Employee Benefits,
TOWER Financial Advisory Services and TOWER Trust (Australia) - had become part
of the Group.
On 20 November 2006, following shareholder and court approval, the New Zealand and
Australian businesses of TOWER Limited separated.
FinTel remained as part of TOWER Limited in New Zealand, committed to providing
insurance to New Zealanders.
